Low Carb Raspberry Cream Protein Shake

Cool down with a healthy frozen treat this summer. This Raspberry Cream Protein Shake will hit that sweet spot and load you up with protein!

Last summer I was all about the keto ice cream. I mean there are so many new brands and flavors out now and quite a few of them are sooooo delicious. But, like anything they have to be consumed in moderation, and one of those little pints tends to disappear very quickly.

Since I’ve transitioned to more of a low carb/high protein way of eating, I’ve had to make a couple of adjustments and one of those is limiting the keto ice cream. Not to say that I won’t indulge on a super hot summer day, but just not every super hot summer day!

So this summer, I’m indulging on protein shakes. I mean, there are so many options to add, starting with protein powder and ice and a liquid, the possibilities are endless.


Sugar Free Syrups

I have quite a collection of sugar free flavored syrups, most of them are from Torani, but there are a few from other brands like Skinny Syrups. I like them because they add a punch of flavor and no calories or carbs. Plus, they are convenient for a quick treat. I’ve used them in all kinds of things such as Sugar Free Salted Caramel No Oats, and Hazelnut Keto Coffee Frappé.

For this raspberry cream protein shake I used Torani Sugar Free Red Raspberry, Torani Sugar Free Vanilla Bean and Torani Sugar Free White Chocolate syrups. I know, it seems like a lot, but each flavor adds something different to the shake…and this shake is my substitute for ice cream…so it has to be tasty!

Protein Shake Liquids

Does the liquid you use in a protein shake even matter? I mean you can get away with using water in your protein shake in a pinch. There are a few different non-dairy milks that I use, that are low carb and low fat. I happen to love the creaminess of macadamia nut milk but have started using this pea protein milk called Ripple. It has 8 grams of protein per serving, and tastes good.

Nootropic Creamer

Keto Brainz nootropic creamer is an extra ingredient that I add into my protein shakes. I love the creaminess that it adds to the protein shake, but even more I love the effects from the nootropics and the MCT oil. If you are unfamiliar with nootropics, they are sometimes referred to as “smart drugs” or “brain enhancers.” Nootropics are supplements, for already healthy people, that give you what I like to call a “brain boost.” A scoop of Keto Brainz in my midday coffee, or protein shake, helps me feel more productive, gets rid of brain fog and is the boost I need to conquer the day. I just love this stuff. Oh and it tastes really good too!

Vanilla Protein Powder

Protein powders seem like such a personal thing. Many people prefer plant based proteins, some prefer whey. For this shake I am using a Bone Broth Protein Powder from Left Coast Performance. It’s good and works well for this shake. I plan on trying something different once this container is empty, since there are so many options out on the market. Sugar Free Sprinkles!

So for the picture I added a squirt of Reddi Wip and topped that with some Guy Gone Keto Chocolate Sprinkles. These are the best tasting sugar-free sprinkles around and I have to hide them, because even my kids can’t tell the difference between these and regular sprinkles.
